So completely true from my point of view and utterly important to bear in mind. I look forward to the day that is arriving soon when I retire my smart phone, place all the technology in a little office separated from my home like the Amish do with their phones and relax to an even greater degree, surrounded by the pristine beauty of the farm that I steward in paradise. Cows, chickens, dogs, goats, sheep are great friends. Computers and phones are helpful at times but not the best companions.

I am astounded how much people are just succumbing to AI as part of life. It takes vigilance to resist it (AI results are taking up more and more of the intitial results in most internet searches). I think most people think, "Well, I'm just using AI where it saves me time and I'm not having it actually write somthing for me," without realizing that AI is meant to dehumanize us and will destroy humanity if we allow it. Anything that "feeds" it has some inherent danger to our humanity and life as we know it. When I mentioned AI being dangerous and cautioned writers against using it during a presentation I gave at a writers conference, most wrote in the chat words to the effect that, "I only use it for x, not y." Some even thought they were agreeing with me by saying that. In my opnion, even a little is too much. The stakes are just too high. We need to resist, not just say no here and yes there. And, yes, there are ways we can't completely get away from AI but we should do our utmost. Nature is the balm! I was disturbed by what you wrote about the Shaman's having trouble accessing their channels of communication due to WIFI. I hope they are finding new ways to tap in.
